Can Items be donated to the jail?
The only donations that the jail may receive are book donations, the books must be paperback and need to be approved by either the jail administrator or jail supervisor. Currently, we are not accepting any food donations.
Can I bring an inmate their current medication(s)?
You may bring any needed medications to the jail for detainees. These medications need to be in a bottle with a label on them and we must get them approved by the jail Doctor. Nothing will be given to any detainee without the approval from our doctor.
Commissary, how does an inmate get commissary and how do I put money on their account
Detainees have the option of purchasing commissary items once a week. They may do so by using their chirping device or by phone. All commissary purchases must be made by Thursday morning at 6am. Items will be shipped to us and delivered on Fridays. If you would like to purchase care packages for a detainee you may do so by going to inmatesales.com or if you would like to add money to their commissary account you may do so by going to jailatm.com.
How do inmates get Phone cards, chirping, and tablet time?
All of these may be purchased by going to inmatesales.com and the money will go directly to that account. Please make sure you are adding money to the device you want that money to go on. If you have any problems doing this, please make sure you call customer support, not the jail. Jail staff cannot provide help with any of these devices if you are having problems, please call customer support at 877-998-5678.
Can I block phone calls from an inmate?
Call the Jail, 618-262-5531, and they will assist you with this matter.
What is the Visitation schedule?
Free visitation days are Thursday and Sunday. All visits must be made 24 hours in advance and may be made either by visiting inmatesales.com or by using the kiosk in the lobby at the jail. Free visits must be done on the kiosk in the jail lobby. There are no in-person visits and the jail staff can not set up visits. If you are having problems scheduling a visit you may call 877-998-5678 or you may pick up the phone in the jail lobby for custom service.
What is an inmate’s BOND?
Illinois abolished CASH BOND and we are a NO CASH BOND state. If someone is being detained they will have a pre-trial detention hearing as soon as possible. That hearing determines if the person is detained without a bond or released with pre-trial conditions.
How do I bond someone out over the phone?
Illinois is a NO CASH BOND state, effective September 18th, 2023. If a warrant was issued prior to that date, the arrested person may have a cash bond associated with the arrest. If you need to BOND someone out please call the Jail at 618-262-5531.
An inmate was just transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections, what can they take with them?
They are able to bring the following:
- Identification Cards (ID & Driver’s License)
- Social Security Card
- Birth Certificate
- Legal/Privileged Mail
- One Religious Book (Bible, Koran, etc.)
- Address Book
- Dentures/Denture Case
- Eyeglasses/Eyeglasses Case
- Wedding Band (No stones and valued under $50)
An inmate was just transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections, what happens to their personal belongings?
Inmate property will be held for 30 days, if it is not picked up by a designee it will be disposed of on day 31.
